This optimism is based on different facts.

The first reason to be positive is that this sector has been one of the less affected by the crisis. Moreover, during the last months the reputation of online games has improved considerably and at the same time governments are starting to look this sector with better eyes, as they have become aware that they can be a great source of income for the country.

Lastly, new laws to regulate the online game industry have started to be approved or developed in many European countries, as for instance Italy, France, Denmark or Sweden, and that is the best example of the brilliant future of this industry.

Since the economic crisis started a few months ago, many were the companies affected by the economic downturn. In general, online gaming sites were the ones less affected, being the big land based casinos the ones that suffered the most.
